Big Fan Games, developer and publisher of Auroch Digital, has announced the release date for retro shooter Warhammer 40,000: Bolter II. The game will be released on October 14, 2026 for Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 5 and PC, with a Switch 2 version to be released at a later date.
The plot of “Warhammer 40,000: Bolter II” will continue the events of the first film. The protagonists will travel to a distant star system where growth in Chaos activity has been recorded. They must face Vashto Akifan who has awakened a giant demonic machine. Players must travel between worlds and destroy enemies to foil Vashto’s plans.
The developers promise to retain the original’s dynamic gunplay while offering an expanded arsenal of weapons and a variety of enemies. Bolter II will feature familiar enemies from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, including Nurglings and Chaos Cultists. Among the new opponents, Bloodletter and Juggernaut have been announced.
The game’s theme song featured in the new trailer was composed by Mick Gordon, known for DOOM (2016), DOOM Eternal, and Wolfenstein: The New Order.
