Rockstar North has made an unexpected and bold statement, confirming that there will be no microtransactions or generated artificial intelligence in the Grand Theft Auto 6 story campaign.
“No monetization” and “no AI,” studio co-head Rob Nelson said bluntly in response to a question from the Kinda Fun Games host, confirming Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s statement that the game was created entirely from scratch by human hands.
At the same time, even without an in-game store, the project’s financial success is guaranteed: the Ultimate Edition of the expansion, which costs $100 and gives access to a pro shop, a tattoo parlor and bonuses, is already a leader in pre-orders. The fate of the multiplayer component (GTA Online) currently remains a secret – the developers remain stubbornly silent, although the previous part of the series still brings in millions of dollars in revenue every day.
GTA 6 will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19th.
