SEGA has updated the page for the long-awaited JRPG Persona 6 on its official Japanese portal, revealing interesting details about the game’s release format. According to the description, the project will be released as physical media on PlayStation 5, which indirectly confirms the release window.

A line in the platform description says it directly: only physical copies of the PlayStation 5 version will be available. Observant netizens and insiders compared this fact to the platform holder’s plans and previously leaked development dates:

  • Given that Sony announced plans to complete production of the PS5 classic disc version by January 2028, the availability of the planned disc suggests that Persona 6 will be released before 2028.
  • The new details fit perfectly with rumors from trusted insiders, who claim that P6 development is in its final stages, with Atlus targeting a September 2027 release.
  • The lack of mention of Xbox Disc Edition on the Japanese website is due to local market specifics, with Microsoft consoles barely available on store shelves; international releases of Xbox Series X/S may include retail copies.

Let us remind you that the official announcement for Persona 6 came at the Xbox Game Showcase in June. The game was announced to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and will be added to the Xbox Game Pass subscription catalog from launch date.
