As promised, on August 31st the first reviews were released for Blood of the Dawn Treader, an ambitious vampire RPG from Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves, the studio behind the major developers of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.

The story of Blood of the Dawn Treader takes place in a forgotten corner of the Carpathian Mountains, dating back to the 14th century. Players will play the role of half-vampire Cohen, who needs to save his family from the clutches of the vampire Brunsis in 30 days and nights.

Critics praised the narrative sandbox, two-way (day and night) gameplay, exciting and tragic story, well-written characters, interesting side quests, consequences of decisions, and interesting environments.
The game’s shortcomings include poor implementation of interesting ideas (such as time limit mechanics), an empty open world, low enemy variety, static NPCs, optimization issues, and numerous bugs.
Blood of the Dawn Treader’s combat system has received mixed reviews
Critics agreed that Blood of the Dawn Treader was an excellent debut game, but that its developers didn’t have the guts to fully realize their most interesting ideas.
Blood of the Dawn Treader will be released on PC on September 3rd (price starts from 4999 rubles) steam, GOG, microsoft store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Although it’s still a few days away from release, the game disc is already in the hands of some buyers.
