In mid-May this year, one of the Moscow Highway Diameter (MSD) bridges was severely damaged due to a fire beneath it. We will not return now to the topic of who and how the organization of warehouses with some extremely flammable materials under the road section was allowed, but the fact is clear: part of the official highway is out of use, and no tolls are even collected when driving on the affected section.

Restoration work on the span continued throughout the summer and was completed last week, now starting from today Tolls will again be charged on the MSD section from Entuziastov Highway to Businovskaya overpass.
It should be reminded here that residents of the Moscow region (Moscow itself plus the Moscow region) pay for travel on the MSD section only on weekdays and during peak hours (7:00 to 11:00 and 16:00 to 20:00). The rest of the time, driving along this route remains free for cars registered in Moscow and the Moscow region. This decision was forced because due to the super popularity of MSD, the road started to become overcrowded and lost the key feature contained in its name – high allowed speed.
