Kinetic Games has released the second quality-of-life update for Phasmophobia, adding new versions of locations, making it easier to find clues, and fixing some VR issues.
Players received smaller versions of the prison, Brownstone High School, and Point Hope. These restricted versions are designed to speed up investigations and add variety to common attempts. Collecting evidence has also become easier: now you can check whether a particular piece of evidence has been recorded directly through a camera, video recorder or tape recorder.
Additionally, the clue and ghost type selected by a team member is now displayed to all players, eliminating unnecessary double-checking before starting a hunt. For VR users, the developers have improved body tracking and fixed several issues complained by the community.
Death is not without change. Upon death, the character becomes visibly pale, eyes become cloudy, and voice chat closes immediately upon death. The update is part of Kinetic Games’ efforts to improve the game after the failed release of player character updates. Previously, the studio delayed the full release of Phasmophobia version 1.0 from 2026 to 2027, admitting that it would not be able to meet player expectations.
