Google has launched a new image creation and editing tool called Google Pics, which will be included in Google Workspace for enterprise customers and also available to Google AI Pro and Ultra premium subscribers.

After launching Google Pics in May, the company promised to make the service available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers throughout the summer. She kept her promise and provided this service to customers on Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus tariffs. It’s available to users of Google AI Pro for Education starting today — just in time for the start of the new school year.
The tool is said to be based on Google’s Nano Banana image generation model. Like tools like Adobe Express and Canva, Google’s new product is designed for everyday design tasks. For example, it can be used to create posters, social media posts, and other visuals and illustrations. Like other similar apps, to create an image you simply enter a text query or upload an existing image as a base. “Images generate content you describe and even make helpful suggestions based on your query,” Google says.
Unlike Adobe Express, with Google Pics users start the image creation process rather than designing from scratch.
The Google Pics app also includes other editing tools, such as highlighting and transforming objects, changing or translating text in images (29 languages supported at launch), and more. It also supports collaborative editing and allows you to create multiple different versions of an image based on prompts, allowing users to choose the best version.
Starting today, Google Images will be included in Docs and Slides, followed by Google Drive.
