Before Gamescom, there were rumors on the Internet that Microsoft might entrust the development of the new part of “Ori” to a third-party studio. Moon Studios is responsible for both original projects, and its chiefs had previously ruled out the option of creating an Ori game without their involvement. And now there are comments from Saber Interactive studio creative director Tim Willitt, calling it one of the development contenders for the third game in the Ori series.
Gamertag Podcast Host ask Willett’s rumors about the development of new games in the series: “Before Night Live even started, there were rumors that you and Xbox were working on Ori 3. I didn’t know if you saw that.”. In response to this, the creative director of Saber Interactive responded as follows:
Yes, yes, I saw that. No, we don’t do that. […] We have some very exciting projects that we will be sharing soon. We have a lot of work to do right now: we’re working with Keanu Reeves, on John Wick , we’re working with Dinosaurs and Jurassic Park. We have a lot of cool projects.
Note that in addition to Saber Interactive, Metroid Dread studio MercurySteam has also emerged as a possible developer in rumors.
