It’s hard to believe now that Nvidia launched the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card at last year’s CES for just $1,999. Thanks to the artificial intelligence boom, prices are skyrocketing. The new GeForce RTX 5090 currently costs $5,000 in the United States, and even more in other countries. Nvidia’s flagship graphics card has seen a 2.5x price increase in less than two years, and the same fate has befallen the rest of the RTX 50 series cards.

Currently, the cheapest GeForce RTX 5090 in the US is the Zotac Solid OC, priced at $4,999. The game that comes with the kit costs $60 and the power supply costs $145, but a year ago such a kit cost just $2,250. More popular options, like the Asus ROG GeForce RTX 5090 Astral 4X OC, currently sell for $6,000, up from $3,360 last year.
The most affordable RTX 5090 in Germany is the MSI Gaming Trio OC, which costs €4,850 (about $5,620). A year ago, the card sold for 2,249 euros (about $2,600). Just last month, the price was 800 euros (about $927) cheaper. For the Asus ROG GeForce RTX 5090 Astral 4X OC graphics card, you’ll pay €5,300 (~$6,143), compared to €2,870 (~$3,326) a year ago.
