Data hunters discovered that four months before release, Mafia 2 had a different ending than what players saw in late summer. Please note that there are also spoilers.

In the release version of Mafia 2’s ending, protagonist Vito Scaletta gets into Leo Galante’s car while his friend Joe Barbaro is taken to an unknown destination. “Sorry. Joe had no part in the deal.”the mafia says to the protagonist.
The ending of the Mafia 2 beta unfolds in the same way, until the brutal truth is revealed. Realizing his friend’s fate, Vito reaches for what appears to be a pistol, and the viewer hears three gunshots as the camera zooms away from the car.
one and a half minutes video clip Czech blogger and modder Sliderv2 has released an edited version of the Mafia 2 ending. User reactions have been mixed. ‘Vito was not included in the deal’– ironically akumalp7776.
According to Mafia 2’s original development director Daniel Vavra, the game should offer multiple endings (four endings are mentioned in the document). The Sliderv2 shown is probably one of the worst.
