According to the creator, who goes by the moniker xPaw, the project began as a simple hobby, but over time, it turned into a heavy burden. The platform’s continued growth and increased workload since the pandemic have weakened it.
The new owners are committed to maintaining the library’s familiar look, name, and functionality. The project will receive financial support, reliable infrastructure and enhanced protection. In the future, the developer also plans to link the functionality of the resource with its proprietary mod manager to check for the latest versions of the game.
The SteamDB platform has been the primary independent source of online statistics for Valve games for many years, and Nexus Mods remains the largest PC project modification archive in the world.
