Chinese computer systems maker Sugon has announced that it is preparing to launch “the world’s first” mobile workstation, featuring a 64-thread processor and 16 GB of dedicated video memory. The company hasn’t revealed processor or graphics architecture details yet, but the specs point to a high-performance system designed for native AI and professional workloads. The workstation is only 16.9mm thick.

Sugon claims that the proposed system can achieve a performance of approximately 50 token/s when running the model locally with 35-bit MoE (Mix of Experts). The company also claims AI inference performance is three to five times faster than unnamed mainstream systems, although no direct comparison or test configurations were provided.
There is no information about the processor yet, but the most likely option is the Hygon C86 chip. Sugon already uses Hygon x86 processors in its workstations and servers, and the two companies have established a hardware partnership. Hygon confirmed that its C86 processor series uses x86-64 architecture. Hygon 3 series chips are scalable to 32 cores and 64 threads.
There is another possible option. Hygon’s upcoming C86-5G architecture implements SMT4, allowing each physical core to run four threads. Server implementations scale to 128 cores and 512 threads. Therefore, a hypothetical 16-core mobile implementation would provide exactly 64 threads.
Sugon did not specify the GPU used. It is clearly mentioned that the 16GB VRAM display uses a discrete GPU and not system memory dedicated to the integrated graphics card. The company did not disclose whether it will use its own GPUs or hardware from other vendors.
