Sony has launched two limited-edition DualSense wireless controllers based on Rockstar Games’ upcoming hit GTA VI. Their announcement was made as part of the State of Play event, where Sony showcased a number of current and future PlayStation games.

DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition is inspired by daytime Vice City: a white base with pastel tones reminiscent of beaches, bright skies and sunsets. The Black Limited Edition controller, on the other hand, references Vice City’s nightlife with a darker color scheme and neon details.
Both controllers feature a shimmering, color-changing finish that blends the tones of a Sin City sunset with neon lights. Sony also added an embossed palm tree to the controller body, giving it a tactile feel in addition to the official GTA IV logo. Despite their glossy appearance, these are basic DualSense wireless controllers, with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Sony says both technologies will dynamically react to events in GTA IV.
Rockstar itself has confirmed that the game will be improved for PS5 Pro, but has yet to specify what those will be. However, with the game’s extended release, the PS5 Pro console has become difficult to find in some major U.S. stores, with some scalpers raising the price of the $899 console to $1,300. This excitement comes despite uncertainty over exactly what performance benefits PS5 Pro will bring to GTA IV.
Both new controllers may be equally hard to find. Sony will sell the limited edition white version through its PlayStation Direct store and participating retailers worldwide. The Black Limited Edition will be available in smaller quantities and will also be available in supported markets via PlayStation Direct. Given the hype surrounding GTA IV’s branded hardware, we shouldn’t be surprised if some version of the controller hits the secondary market for $1,000.
DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition and Black Limited Edition – will be available for pre-order starting September 10th at 10:00am local time in most regions. In the United States, PlayStation Direct orders will begin at 7:00 AM Pacific Time (10:00 AM Eastern Time). These two limited-edition DualSense controllers will be available on November 19, coinciding with the release of GTA IV. The price is $84.99 in the US, €84.99 in Europe, £74.99 in the UK, and 12,480 yen in Japan.
