Bandai Namco announced the release of new content for the ARPG “Echoes of Aincrad” set in the “Sword Art Online” universe in the form of “Creation Girl DLC”.
As announced in the last State of the Game, Genesis Girls will include a new storyline and side quests that continue the journey, including new areas on the first and second levels of Aincrad. There is also a new ally in Tozawa Misumi, known as Mito, who is one of the characters in the progression arc.
Mito will wield a new type of weapon, a curved sword, and the developers describe her as someone who feels guilty for her past actions. In addition to the new sword, Mito will also receive combos and support skills.
Genesis Maidens will also add new gear upgrade options, allowing you to upgrade your armor and apply passive effects, expanding your build customization options.
The DLC is currently in development and Bandai Namco plans to release it in winter 2026 on all platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
