Players who have been following Xbox consoles since the Xbox One generation may remember the game Scalebound. This is a project between Platinum Games and famous game designer Hideki Kamiya. The game is co-developed with Xbox and plans to be exclusive to Microsoft platforms. Three years after it was announced, the project was canceled, and rumors often surfaced that the project could still be “finished,” with Hideki Kamiya himself suggesting this to Phil Spencer on several occasions.
Kamiya no longer works at Platinum Games, but he still wants to finish development of Scalebound. as part of new interview The game designer said he’s recently spoken with several former employees of the Scalebound team, and he considers completing work on the project to be one of his serious goals. He also noted that Kento Koyama, president and CEO of CLOVERS Studio, where Kamiya works, supports the idea. The developers even requested that Scalebound footage be included in the interview to get Asha Sharma’s attention.
I have reason to say it again: if they want to do it, let’s make this idea a reality! Xiaoshan agrees with this. It would be helpful if you included some footage of Asha in your material [из «Scalebound»].
[…] Of course, it’s a shame that this project never saw the light of day, and even now, I’d be very eager to see it completed if possible. When I say this, I mean it 100%. Of course, we may not have the ability to do that right now, but I firmly believe that if you want something bad enough, you’ll eventually find a way to make it happen.
Let’s remember that Scalebound was canceled after multiple gameplay demos and even several release dates. Later, the developers cited Xbox One performance issues as the reason for the cancellation.
