The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 online action game “Twilight Blood” will use FromSoftware’s first-ever mature romance mechanism between real players. The new system will allow characters to get down on one knee and express their devotion using a fleeting love mark.
Director Hidetaka Miyazaki pointed out that he believed that this film was not a classic romance film, but a search for reliable support and trust in a harsh world. The studio has previously added the ability to form alliances with NPCs, including Henry of Astora in Dark Souls 3 and René the Witch in Elden Ring.
However, the innovation of multiplayer has led to interesting situations during network testing. Some users complained about opponents attacking characters during emotional proposals, preventing them from completing the beautiful gesture.
