“We’re always looking at our latest games and thinking about how to improve them and take them even further,” he explains. “so, After “GTA 5”, the three protagonists contact each other But with your own personality, and then going into Red Dead Redemption 2, which is obviously Arthur’s story, we were a little worried that people might get bored with just having one protagonist. ”

“We wanted to restore the depth of Red Dead Redemption 2’s world and the ability to interact with the environment in a more meaningful way, but at the same time that emotional bond People ended up developing this relationship with Arthur,” Nelson shared. “Is there a way to bring that into Grand Theft Auto, and how would we do that? So we tried different ideas; we knew we wanted to go back and look at the idea of multiple protagonists.”

“We looked at various options, but ultimately we wanted to try a couple, some kind of partnership. What would that feel like if they were in a relationship, or had the potential to be in a relationship? So this is a couple, bonnie and clyde style. As soon as we thought about it, it was obvious. This became a clear choice for us and seemed like something we absolutely had to try. ”
