Riot Games has announced a long-awaited innovation: nearly 17 years after launch, League of Legends will feature built-in team voice chat for all tournament participants. The feature will debut in patch 26.20, scheduled for release on October 7, and will be available to players at Honor Level 3 and above starting on the North American and Oceania servers.
The developers promise advanced noise reduction, high connection stability, and an unusual modifier – “Voice Skin”. At the same time, access to voice chat will be strictly regulated by parental controls, and online communities are already actively discussing moderation issues and the potential risk of increased toxicity from random matches.
What do you think of the introduction of built-in voice chat in League of Legends? Do you plan on using it to coordinate randomness in ranked games?
