NCSoft and BigFire Games have finally decided on the business model for post-apocalyptic shooter Cinder City, which was previously codenamed Project LLL. The game will abandon the shareware program and will be released at a fixed price. Monetization of the service part will be entirely based on battle passes and cosmetics – the developers specifically emphasize that it will not be possible to strengthen characters with real money.
Created on Unreal Engine 5, the project will offer a seamless open world of 7 x 7 kilometers of post-apocalyptic Seoul, capable of hosting hundreds of players in a single location. At launch, users will have access to five agents with defined roles, including attack aircraft, tanks, snipers, drone pilots, and medics. The endgame content will be based on two pillars – dark cooperative dungeons with horror elements suitable for 4-6 players, and large-scale raids against giant bosses in open fields, requiring the coordinated actions of dozens of warriors.
The full version of the project will be released first on PC, with console versions to follow. Full alpha testing is planned for Q4 2026, followed by a public beta testing phase.
