French role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been a huge success and has been breaking all records off-screen for a long time. Organizer and developer Sandfall Interactive has announced that due to overwhelming demand, the global orchestral tour “Painted Symphony” will add an additional 24 dates in 2027 and 2028. After previous shows, including performances at London’s Eventim Apollo and Berlin’s Konzerthaus, sold out in a very short time, the orchestra is now taking a step into history: on February 28, 2027, the show will take place at London’s iconic O2 Arena. This is the first time in the history of the gaming industry that a pure video game concert will be held in a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate 20,000 spectators.
The expanded tour schedule highlights the unprecedented cultural impact of composer Lorien Testard’s score across the globe. Following the game’s premiere and release, scores on official music charts in multiple European countries climbed to record highs for a game album.
By stepping onto the world’s biggest stage, the brand finally leaves the niche of classic gaming events and joins the ranks of international pop and rock stars on the stage at London’s O2 Arena.
The newly added 24 dates span North America, Europe and Asia and take into account the ongoing wave of hype surrounding the Belle Époque epic. For production, the change in stadium size means a massive logistics scale.
In addition to an expanded symphony orchestra and live choir, the creators have committed to revamping the lighting and visual effects for the 2027 and 2028 performances, which will transport the visual themes of the game world to the concert hall in a more immersive way.
Pre-sales for the new dates will begin in mid-September 2026. The scale of this project illustrates just how blurred the lines between interactive media and classic high culture are becoming – a success that will ultimately consign this extraordinary work from France to the history books of popular culture.
