Five years after its debut on Steam, Sweden’s Iron Gate and Coffee Stain have finally officially released survival game Valheim, announcing the news via a trailer.
Early Access has ended on PC and XBOX, and the retired hit game is now also available to owners of Japanese consoles PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Let us remind you that Valheim has sold over 17 million copies. Of course, the developers also added new content – the Deep North, the largest biome and now-destroyed home of the first Vikings, as well as plot and other stuff like weapons, equipment, tools, materials, enemies and mechanics.
On Steam, the game has a 94% positive rating after 500,000 reviews. As for online, with the release of the full version, it immediately tripled and exceeded 80,000.

After nearly five years of development, the developers of Valheim are preparing to discontinue Early Access. The final version will be the largest update to the project and will add the last major area, new story scenes, and a complete conclusion to the Vikings’ journey.

Valheim developers have accelerated preparations for the game’s full release. Version 1.0 should be released in September, but in the meantime the team is working on the latest bugs and refining the project to make the long-awaited transition to the release version without unnecessary hassles.
