Microsoft has added support for adaptive triggers and vibrations for the DualSense controller in Windows

Microsoft has released an update to the GameInput 3.5 library that will significantly simplify the process of integrating Sony’s proprietary gaming controller functionality into PC games. The API includes a special helper module that allows developers to directly access the unique features of PlayStation 5’s DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers.

With this new feature, PC game creators can now directly program the behavior of adaptive triggers (including resistance, weapon recoil, and vibration effects), control standard vibrations, customize RGB lighting colors, control player count LEDs, and control microphone mute indicators. Previously, in GameInput 3.3, the Redmond team had added support for Japanese gamepad gyroscopes, so developers now have access to nearly the entire arsenal of key arsenals for the device.

Admittedly, it’s too early to talk about full native support for DualSense across Windows systems. This module has been implemented as a header to send raw data to the device. It currently only runs over a wired USB connection and does not support transmitting these commands over Bluetooth.
