The developer of multiplayer shooter Friends vs Friends has released a major update for The Gambition, adding new character Cloud to the game. Its appearance is linked to the new “Despicable Roulette” system, which speeds up the reception of red coins and increases the maximum supply of red coins from 200 to 999,999. The developers clearly emphasized the satirical nature of the innovation, even warning that roulette and other random mechanics could encourage unhealthy habits due to visual and cognitive stimulation.
Approximately 50 cosmetic items have also been added for players, including weapons, characters, card backs, and avatars. Some rewards can now be obtained directly at a higher price, rather than relying solely on random prizes. Allowing character appearances to be changed between matches, decks can now be copied as text strings and used to quickly import a ready-made set of cards.
The balance of the game has been significantly redesigned. These changes affect Titans, Soulless, Mines, Ice Weapons, Turtles, Bomb Belts, Pyromania, Slow Reload, Small Magazines, and other cards and abilities. For example, mines now take time to fully set up, and damage done before preparation is complete has been reduced. The maximum effect of the slower reload speed and smaller magazine has also been reduced.
The developers also explained why they previously announced they were working on another game. According to them, Friends vs Friends does not generate enough revenue to make supporting the project a sustainable investment of time and money. The team intends to fund new projects while retaining the opportunity to continue development of published games using existing resources.
