Songs of the Past, a new story add-on for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt produced by Fool’s Theory Studio, will add the chain, a classic weapon from Andrzej Sapkowski’s book, to the game.
As studio director Jakub Rokos said in an interview with BBC News, the developers dreamed of reintroducing it to the original game in 2015, but technical limitations at the time did not allow the idea to be realized.
This technological breakthrough is made possible thanks to the upcoming remaster of the base game, which will be released on September 29th. Chains will serve as an effective mid-range weapon and crowd control tool to help fend off hordes of new enemies.
