As fans discuss the release of the fifth installment in the series, Blizzard is proving that support for Diablo 4 is only getting stronger. At BlizzCon 2026, senior game director Brent Gibson and senior producer Tiffany Wat announced the biggest news for classic fans: Amazon will return to the game in the first half of 2027. Diablo 2which will bring a whole new type of weapon to this installment – the Battle Spear and Signature Bow. A full demonstration of the course will be held on a separate panel as part of the current exhibition.
Additionally, on Tuesday, September 15th, the game will launch the Hell Legacy Holiday Season to commemorate the cult series’ 30th anniversary. This update will bring the original incarnation of evil led by Diablo back to Sanctuary, and unexpectedly bring Deckard Cain back into the plot.
Players will collect evil shards that grant their characters great strength at the expense of vulnerability, and earn unique rewards inspired by all eras of the series.
