Enthusiasts continue to turn the Nintendo Switch into an open book for PC users. emulator juicewhich is a fork of Eden, which in turn was derived from Yuzu and gained the recompiler mode. It allows you to translate the code of a Switch game into a native x86-64 executable file, which means that the computer processor can directly execute it without completely emulating the console CPU. The situation with GPUs isn’t quite the same yet – Switch graphics cards will still need to be emulated, but given the huge difference in performance between modern graphics cards and Japanese console graphics cards, that’s no longer cause for any concern at this point.
However, there is bad news for the project. Version 0.0.4 is the last public version of Suyu. The developers say there are no plans for further development or downloads, and the repository is maintained as an archive under the GPL-3.0 license. Therefore, it is unclear whether this technology will develop further. But the very existence of this mode shows where modern console emulation is headed.
