As Moscow-St. The St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway is about to begin commercial operation, and more and more project progress information is appearing on the Internet. Well, today the news service of the Industrial Development Fund report The Trax enterprise, part of the KSK Group of Companies, has supplied the Ural Locomotive Company with the first climate systems for high-speed train prototypes.

To date, Trucks has supplied Urals with 17 such climate systems: 13 for the coach interior and 4 for the cab. A distinctive feature of the climate control unit produced directly for high-speed trains is its built-in system for compensating for pressure drops when traveling at high speeds, passing two high-speed trains and entering tunnels. At least that way passengers won’t suffer from “plugged ears” and other more unpleasant consequences, including on the train structure itself.
Preliminary tests show that the climate control equipment of high-speed trains can operate in a very wide temperature range: from -50 degrees to +70 degrees. Obviously, on the route Moscow – St. Petersburg, such a difference is not even theoretically possible (although the upper limit is quite possible under the hot sun), but an excessive safety margin never hurts.
According to the plan, by the end of this year, the truck company will also supply an additional 23 air-conditioning units to Ural Locomotive Company. As for the high-speed rail itself, we would like to remind everyone that trial runs of trains on the high-speed rail will begin at the end of 2027, and passenger transportation will begin in the spring of 2028. Unless, of course, force majeure circumstances interfere with plans.
