The Russian government has officially approved the creative economy development strategy, which will last until 2036. The document aims to significantly increase the share of creative industries in the country’s GDP, strengthen human resources and expand infrastructure. As Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted, citizens enjoy the fruits of this industry every day – from movies and music to modern media and folk crafts.
Over the next 10 years, the Cabinet plans to increase the number of professional companies and individual entrepreneurs by 22% and the number of graduates from creative professional education institutions by 25% through the transition to project-based training and internships.
Creative clusters will appear in more than 45 regions across the country, among which leading regions such as Moscow, Moscow Oblast and St. Petersburg have already set high standards for the development of the industry. The government will present a detailed plan to implement the strategy in March 2027.
