HP has quietly unveiled its new OmniDesk mini PC, which the company is positioning as a compact alternative to desktop systems like the Mac mini. The device measures only 13x13x4.8 cm and is aimed at users who value small size and low power consumption.
OmniDesk is an affordable Intel Core Series 3 processor based on Wildcat Lake architecture. The base version is equipped with Core 3 304, with 1 high-performance Cougar Cove core and 4 energy-saving Darkmont LP-E. In higher configurations, a Core 5 320 is available with two powerful cores and four energy-efficient cores. LPDDR5X-8533 memory capacity is 8 or 16 GB.
In terms of storage, there are two M.2 slots that support NVMe SSD and the total storage capacity can reach 16TB. Meanwhile, the base version comes with a 256 GB PCIe Gen 3 drive. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and optional Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3 were also announced. The OmniDesk starts at $799, but further upgrades quickly increase the price: a Core 5 320 adds $80, increasing memory capacity will cost an additional $140-200, and a 2TB SSD will cost an additional $760.
