Civilization VII has received update 1.5.0 to commemorate the series’ 35th anniversary. The developers have added maps, classic civilizations and leaders that are familiar to fans, as well as a whole host of additional content for those no longer content with just one empire.
The main innovation is the true starting position Earth mode: starting from ancient times, players will be able to develop forces from the territory where the capital of the chosen civilization historically was located. The Terra Incognita and Shuffle maps have also been redesigned – spawning has become more diverse and the gameplay has become more random and replayable.
The update also speeds up map loading and creation, changes resource allocation, and adds new nuances to diplomacy. Now, if another leader decides to start a war, maintaining the alliance will become more difficult. Additionally, the developers have made some changes to the interface and gameplay.
At the same time, paid historical collections were also released. It adds two new leaders—Elizabeth I and George Washington—and three civilizations: Babylon, Gaul, and England. It looks like Civilization won’t be celebrating its anniversary without paid DLC.
