A new note from our favorite section “You haven’t run DOOM yet?” A modder going by the nickname Yard1 has released an unusual mod in the Steam Workshop with the self-explanatory name DOOM, which allows you to launch a classic shooter in the global strategy Hearts of Iron IV. To launch this cult game, all you need to do is subscribe to the mod page on Valve’s service.
So far, one fan has achieved the complete first episode of the original doom (based on the classic free demo from the nineties) and also adds the first map from a fan project free.
The technical basis is the open engine bad luckmaking the module theoretically support any compatible WAD file, allowing players to directly load their own levels and modifications during diplomatic crises and separatist movements on the European map.
