Last October, Microsoft made major changes to its Game Pass subscription. Then the Essential tier came along instead of Core, and the Ultimate subscription got some new benefits and became noticeably more expensive, among other changes. - New games will no longer be released on Game Pass on launch day (this change is expected to begin in February or April 2027). After BlizzCon, there was speculation that the first day of Game Pass launch was over.
- Cloud gaming will be removed from some plans. Launching the game via the cloud will be available separately for $5.99 per month for 25 hours. Let us remind you that they are already planning to implement restrictions on Game Pass subscribers starting this November.
- Family subscriptions cost $5.99 per month for each additional user, in addition to normal service fees. Xbox had previously tested a home subscription option, but then backed away from it due to EA.
- The $14.99-per-month plan has access to the Game Pass library and multiplayer games, but doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the more expensive versions.
Note that February 2027 is the release window for Fable, and the game is confirmed to be available on Game Pass on launch day. However, some other major new titles, such as Clockwork Revolution or State of Decay 3, have also been confirmed for release in 2027.
