The planned release of the online shooter’s third season update has been significantly delayed. Innovation will now appear in December instead of next week.
Bungie has apparently delayed the release of the Shootathon Season 3 update. In fact, this was supposed to be available next week from September 22, 2026, but now nothing is happening. Instead, the development team gave themselves a few extra months.
After all: as delays are announced, so too do new release dates. The Season 3 update should now be available for download from December 8, 2026. The reason for the significant delay is believed to be “adjustment of plans to ensure updates meet player expectations.”
The Season 3 update is now available as part of the Symbiosis update. At the same time, you also get permanent PvE experience, modified surrounding areas, and more.
There will be another reset in early October. On October 6, progress and the in-game economy will be reset, rewards updated, and real-time gameplay improvements will be made. According to the developers, a new rewards pass will be available, and there will also be some quality-of-life improvements and balance updates.
