The developers of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a fantasy survival simulator based on the classic MMORPG RuneScape universe, have announced the end of Early Access. The game launched fully on PC and is launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles for the first time, with support for cross-platform multiplayer. The release also comes with the release of a major update, Defiant Wilds, which concludes the Dragon Kurdra’s story saga. The main opponent will be Kudela himself. Defeating bosses will earn players new rewards, including dragon shields and cloaks.
A new magical weapon has appeared in the arsenal – the wand. They deal less damage than staffs, but allow you to move faster and be more aggressive in combat. Magic attacks can still stun, burn, and slow down. The spell list has been expanded to include Rune Return, Weaken, Retribution, and Teleport Home. Also added are armor sets – runes, dragon and black dragon skins, rune escape weapons, ancestral staffs, magic bows and crossbows.
The combat system has been significantly redesigned. Attacks while sprinting appear, parrying begins to restore 50% of stamina and provides the opportunity for a devastating counterattack, a separate special attack range was added, and actions and some animations can now be interrupted by blocking or dodging. Additionally, characters can now move while casting spells.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a cooperative survival simulator for 1-4 players that takes you on a journey through the mysterious land of Ashenfall, where wild magical energies have corrupted the very nature of the world. Players will battle legendary dragons, uncover ancient secrets, and forge their own path through the ruins of forgotten civilizations. Using the power of runes, they will be able to manipulate the environment, detonate mineral veins, summon ghost axes, and even turn bones into food.
