The developer of turn-based role-playing game Embers of the Crownless has unveiled the new Nightcrawler class and announced the development of a second gender option for three existing classes: Executioner, Ghostblade, and Stormbringer.
According to the developers, Nightcrawler is about a hunter who survives in the harsh land of the polar night, where the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon for months. This is a remote role that relies on stealth, distance management, and resource conservation. In combat, the class uses a unique resource called “moonlight”: unlike most other characters, who accumulate resources for later use, Nightcrawlers start with a certain reserve and then gradually use it up. Players must choose to restore, save, or speed through Moonlight’s moments.
Another feature is Moonlight – a special arrow that is released after being moved a certain number of times. Depending on the skill used previously, she can freeze the opponent or make Nightcrawler disappear from the battlefield. Developers are considering a variety of gameplay options: long-range sniping, slowing and freezing enemies, heavy application of dark effects, and tactics of attacking quickly and then retreating or disappearing.
In addition to the new classes, the developers also showed off concept art for additional gender options for the Executioner, Ghostblade, and Stormbringer. The game identities and combat mechanics of each profession will remain unchanged. The concept of a female version of the Executioner is still in development and will be presented at a later date.
