South Korean studio Royal Crow, founded by industry veterans led by Baek Seung-hoon, the creator of shooter Sudden Strike, has revealed its new project – Waste The Fallen. The game is a dark action shooter with cosmic horror elements in the spirit of Howard Lovecraft’s work, and is currently in development for PC.
The story takes place in the apocalyptic world Deep that was flooded and destroyed. As “deviants,” players can travel alone or in squads of up to three people to procedurally generated areas to collect valuable loot, weapons, and resources to upgrade their base. The main difficulty of the raid is not only competing with other survivors and giant “fallen” monsters, but also the mechanics of sanity – the longer the raid lasts, the crazier the environment becomes and the more aggressive it becomes for the player. The shooter doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but the author has planned a closed beta for early September.
