Kojima Productions revealed important details about Physint at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Starring Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård, this action spy game is the culmination of Hideo Kojima’s 40-year career in game development. At the same time, the development studio confirmed Microsoft’s Xbox brand as the official publishing partner of the project. Following their ongoing collaboration on horror game OD, the two companies are strengthening their strategic alliance. Skarsgård joins Charlee Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe on the studio’s third independent label.
The news was announced during the official Xbox Tokyo Game Show livestream. In a personal statement, Kojima highlighted the mutual admiration between him and Skarsgård, as well as the positive dynamic during the first costume rehearsals, 3D scans and camera tests in the studio with Charlie Fraser.
Skarsgård, who gained international fame for his role as Pennywise in the John Wick remake and for his roles in John Wick: Chapter 4 and Nosferatu, joins an already well-known ensemble. These include Australian actress Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, known for previous Kojima Productions projects, and Japanese actress Minami Hamabe.
In addition to casting, the choice of publishing partner was a fundamental decision for the project. Under the Xbox brand, Microsoft will take over Physint’s global sales and technical support. Following the cloud title OD cooperation, the cooperative relationship between the two parties has further deepened. With financial and technical support from Xbox, Kojima Productions aims to set new standards for the action spy genre and build the project into a global brand.
Physint will be unveiled to the public for the first time in September 2025 as part of the studio’s tenth anniversary. The game uses state-of-the-art performance capture technology and cinematic narrative structures to further erase the boundaries between interactive entertainment and film. Kojima Productions emphasized that work is proceeding as planned thanks to the technical resources of both parties.
