It’s been more than six years since Sony Interactive Entertainment studio Media Molecule’s last game (LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway, Dreams) was released, but it seems the British team is finally ready to announce a new project.

Let us remind you that Media Molecule released the Dreams game builder on PS4 in February 2020, but stopped supporting the project in September 2023 to allow for new attempts. Nothing was heard from him since.
According to the publication MP1st Citing sources, Media Molecule reports that a new game is still in development and ready for its premiere. Announcement and release are planned for 2027, but the release date is subject to change.

According to sources familiar with MP1st, the upcoming Media Molecule project is a social simulator inspired by iconic representatives of the genre such as Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon.
It is speculated that Media Molecule’s social simulator will not be a service game with a long-term profit base, but MP1st’s editors do not rule out such entertainment elements appearing in the project.

Media Molecule was founded in 2006 and was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2010 following the success of the PS3 version of LittleBigPlanet. In 2011, the studio released a sequel, after which others took over the series.
