Kojima may change PHYSINT's engine after leaving Playstation, but this has not been confirmed: From the website NEWXBOXONE.RU

PHYSINT, announced in 2024 by Kojima Productions, was originally announced to be developed on the Decima engine. This is the Guerrilla Games technology that’s part of the Playstation, and immediately after Hideo Kojima announced his departure from Sony and the espionage action game heading to Xbox, rumors arose about possible changes to the game engine. While it has yet to be officially confirmed, PHYSINT’s new poster has sparked yet another discussion on the issue.

As part of the Tokyo Game Show Xbox event, Hideo Kojima showed off a poster for the game PHYSINT alongside the cast. He also clarified that the project is currently in the digitization phase of the cast.

Players on ResetEra Note that the use of transhuman technology is noted at the bottom of the PHYSINT poster, and the copyright of Epic Games is added. Users say this confirms earlier theories that Sony refused to license the Decima engine for development on the project, which is why Kojima’s team had to look for alternatives. As you know, Epic Games is the creator of the Unreal Engine, on which PHYSINT is developed.

It is important to note that using Metahuman does not definitively confirm that PHYSINT was developed in Unreal Engine. Previously, in “Death Stranding 2”, Kojima Productions also used MetaHuman technology to process characters, and then integrated the generated models and facial animations into Decima.
