The developers of Prince of Thieves, the roguelike action game from Evil Empire, have released an anniversary update to mark the game’s release anniversary. It adds a combat area to the game where players will have to fight waves of stronger opponents. There’s also a new freeze element that lets you slow down enemies and temporarily remove them from active combat.
This update adds two new modes:
- Speed Run is a full-fledged time trial with a built-in timer that tracks your speed and efficiency.
- “Parkour Mode” focuses on wall running, route selection, and acrobatics, making level navigation your own challenge.
This test system adds some new elements. Daily Awakenings offer daily runs with changing modifiers and special conditions. The Trials of Nyamtur are scattered across various areas of the game and offer dangerous quests and legendary loot as rewards. In addition, the developers have added more complex puzzles and battle rooms designed for players who have mastered the basic mechanics.
Evil Empire has redesigned pacing and difficulty levels. The starting area is shortened and the overall difficulty is increased. The final palace area has been completely redesigned and rebuilt to accommodate the powerful buildings players receive at the end of the run.
New items include slingshot-shaped weapons and trap-like tools. Their purpose is to destroy enemies and dodge attacks. The game also adds animal companions, who accompany the prince in the version of Ctesiphon, the capital of the Persian Empire, providing active or passive assistance in combat and exploration.
