Embark Studios has announced that multiplayer shooter THE FINALS will enter a new chapter on October 20, commemorating the project’s third anniversary.
According to executive producer Christian Orsrud, instead of doing a short season as usual, the team spent a full year doing an in-depth revamp of the game’s basic systems, improving the graphics and atmosphere of the TV show.
The patch’s main innovations will be a more realistic and detailed destruction system – floors will start to sag, walls will tilt, and buildings will collapse along new trajectories – as well as a redesigned arena and improved lighting. In addition, the developers will enhance the role of in-game sponsors to make relationships with them more meaningful, and update the way competitions are presented to create the feel of a true competitive show.
