In June, developer Nightdive Studios announced Thief: The Dark Project Remastered, an updated stealth action game about thief Garrett. As part of the PC Gaming Show event in Tokyo, they showed off full gameplay for the project for the first time and revealed some new details.
In a brief video, developers showed Garrett exploring mansions, dungeons, sewers, and other locations. You can also see the basic mechanics of stealth in there. Among the interesting changes, notable in the film are new wheels for selecting items and weapons (similar to the solution for existing Thief mods). Furthermore, in the video you can see how much the game has improved graphically – textures, models, animations have all been improved, while the author tried to preserve the visual style of the original.
Thief: The Dark Project Remastered doesn’t yet have a release date; the game itself is expected to be released this winter, but no specific month has been specified. It’s also worth noting that on November 2, the developers will launch an additional story campaign for the game – The Dim Mirror.
Thief: The Dark Project Remastered is planned to be released on Xbox Series X | S, Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Switch 2, Switch and PC.
