Once Human’s Abyssal Islands update will be the largest update in the history of the project. It will expand the game world by adding a vast sea area, consisting of five areas and many secrets. This innovation will bring about unique mechanics, including the construction of ships and the creation of mobile sea fortresses, and will also form a new survival cycle that combines land and sea.
Weirdness and anomalies are an integral part of Once Human’s atmosphere, so players are unlikely to be surprised that the local ocean isn’t just a giant ocean, but a living entity. The Drowned King is both part of the environment and an ancient being beginning to awaken. According to the update announcement, it “eager to capture those who dare to cross its waters.”
Beginning with building a simple ship, players will have the opportunity to modify and improve their vessel until building a massive mobile sea fortress. Swimming will become not only a way to move between new areas, but also the key to survival. The ship can serve as a base, workshop, or even a platform for heavy artillery.
A survival cycle that combines land and sea will play a key role in all this: players will explore mysterious and dangerous islands and dive underwater in search of resources and treasures.
