As part of the new phase of the Xbox reboot, Obsidian (which last year released Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, and Grounded 2) has announced that it will be joining publisher Bethesda. The two studios already announced a collaboration on Fallout earlier this year, with Obsidian continuing to develop Grounded 2 and preparing DLC for The Outer Worlds 2.
Bethesda President Gil Braff send out He described joining Obsidian in a letter to employees. He said that under new leadership, the team will continue to maintain its advantages.
The creative personality and strengths that set Obsidian apart will continue to be at the core of the studio and its work. Together, both teams will solidify their long-standing relationship and work on new Fallout projects; we will share more details in the coming months.
