A few weeks ago, the hit animated series Blackjack turned 35, and Disney announced an anniversary reboot. Development of the project began six years ago.
This time, the voice of Gaga Handy is none other than Mark Hamill. Seth Rogen (“Invincible,” “The Lion King”) stars as Zigzag McLark, and Dan Stevens (“Legion”) is also in the cast. The animated show was commissioned from Sean Tratta (12 Monkeys, Mayans) and unknown Borja Peña Gorostegui, with original creator Ted Stones serving as a consultant.
For the past 35 years, Blackcloak has been trapped in his own nightmare – a parallel world where no one has heard of his superhero exploits. But now, a rebellious teenager named Ducky appears on the horizon, and he’s aware of his heroic past. He’s determined to get this narcissistic crime fighter back on track. Together, the unlikely duo will fight dangerous battles against old foes like Antiplasch and Megavolt, and reunite with allies Zigzag, Gusena, and Morgana to save the entire universe.
