The developers of Honkai Impact: Star Trail have released a video dedicated to the new character Pearl. The latest trailer is made in a comedy style and tells the story of an unexpected creative crisis of an employee of Star World Company.
The pearl is central to the plot. According to rumors, this workaholic who never took a day off suddenly took a week off. People around her whispered that she used two million tubes of paint every night. Pearl posed the question: “Is art computable?” Realizing that algorithms and calculations (even 96% improved) could not grasp the true nature of creativity, she decided to take up the paintbrush herself, create her own masterpieces, and push herself to exhaustion.
The funniest part of the trailer is the heated debate about art. The characters in Pearl’s head get into a heated discussion and start fighting over a banana. This is a direct reference to Maurizio Cattelan’s famous real-life artwork “The Comedian”.
