Microsoft fans may soon be getting their own platinum trophy. Microsoft’s achievement amounts to Sony’s most valuable trophy in individual gaming.
On PlayStation, when you search for trophies within a single game, you can eventually earn the Platinum trophy when you fully complete a game. Similar functionality is lacking on Xbox, but that’s finally about to change.
Similar hints and speculation have surfaced online in recent weeks and months, and now the whole thing has taken shape. An update to the Xbox PC app now reveals Platinum Edition equivalent sounds and symbols, which Microsoft is calling a “mythic achievement.”

The sound and graphics of this achievement were presented via social media by well-known gaming industry insider Klobrille. The sound is quite extensive and lasts 16 seconds, which is appropriate considering how much effort it usually takes to accomplish such a mythical achievement.
In short: Anyone who earns all the trophies (i.e. achievements) in the game may receive a special reward from Microsoft in the future that they can then show off. Full details are still to be determined, and a launch date has not yet been announced. Of course, we’ll keep you updated!
