In August this year, Google announced the launch of a new developer verification mechanism-Android Developer Verification. The system verifies the origin of applications and its implementation is carried out in phases. Software products from developers that do not pass such verification will be more difficult to install on Android devices.
Users will need to change device settings, perform biometric authentication, or enter a lock password, confirm that these actions are voluntary, reboot the device, and then wait 24 hours. You’ll then need to go back to settings and approve the installation of apps from unverified sources for a week or indefinitely. Google linked its decision to introduce a new verification system to its fight against malware. Starting September 30, such rules will come into effect in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand, and eventually in other countries.
