In addition to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario + Rabbids Sparkle of Hope, French publisher and developer Ubisoft may also team up with Nintendo to release another game, but based entirely on its franchise.

The failed project is detailed in an exclusive article on the Insider Gaming portal shared Authoritative insider Tom Henderson. A video version of the report is attached below.
Henderson said that Nintendo and Ubisoft are satisfied with the popularity of “Mario + Rabbids: Fire of Hope” at the end of 2022 and will soon begin negotiations on the next cooperation project.
Ubisoft Milan’s “Mario + Rabbids” team proposed to Nintendo in early 2023 to launch a spin-off of the “Legend of Zelda” series starring new characters. The project was codenamed Goliath.
Nintendo liked the idea, but at the request of the Japanese platform holders, the protagonist was no longer a nameless hero, but instead became Ganondorf, the archenemy of Hyrule and Princess Zelda, and the main villain of the series.
After the cancellation of Goliath, Ubisoft Milan could have developed a game based on another Nintendo franchise (Star Fox, Super Mario), but that didn’t happen either.
Ubisoft Milan began working on a demo, but in November 2023, Nintendo rejected the prototype for unknown reasons. The released employees are working on various projects within Ubisoft, including Beyond Good and Evil 2.
After the cancellation of “Goliath”, “Mario + Rabbids” creative director Davide Soliani and two colleagues left Ubisoft to form Day 4 Night Studio, which is currently preparing the platform game “Bradley the Badger”.
