The new asymmetrical horror game is launching into Early Access later than originally planned. The corresponding release will be official in 2027.
SAW: Genesis is the next asymmetrical horror game to be released, but a planned early access version won’t be released this year. The manufacturer has now officially confirmed this in a statement. Therefore, the game will not enter Early Access until Season 1 of 2027.
“SAW: Genesis” is adapted from the famous horror movie series and is a brand new 3v1 horror game. One player controls the “Judge” and three other players control the “Defendant”. They must find a way to overcome challenges and collect keys in order to escape before time runs out.
Early Access, which was actually planned to begin in Q4 2026, has been postponed in order to evaluate the extensive feedback from the past few months and incorporate it into the Early Access release. More time is needed for this. SAW: Genesis has been previously tested by smaller groups in a variety of conditions.
“Today, we made the decision to delay the early access of SAW: Genesis until the first quarter of 2027. We know how much this series means to fans, and we want to launch a SAW game that not only lives up to its name, but also stands out as a standalone multiplayer horror game. Over the past few months, we have collected a lot of feedback and tested the game’s suggestions and many games in a variety of conditions. “Your enthusiasm and input are invaluable, and we are so grateful that you have been on this journey with us. We know the wait is now longer than planned, but we believe it will make SAW Genesis even better,” the statement read.
